New Orleans RB Reggie Bush, the second player taken overall at the 2006 draft, left Sunday’s loss to Baltimore with a sprained ankle. Bush indicated, however, that he still expected to play next week in Tampa Bay. Before the injury had had his worst day as a pro, rushing for just 16 yards on five carries, while adding just 5 yards on four catches; for good measure, Bush also fumbled and threw an interception.....

Curtis Martin didn't retire, but he knows his bone-on-bone knee condition makes a comeback virtually impossible. Yesterday, the Jets' greatest running back of all-time announced he's done for the 2006 season, and he's almost certainly played his last NFL game.....

Tiki Barber's wife was the catalyst behind the Giants star's decision to hang up his helmet. A longtime friend of Barber says she made him afraid he'd suffer a catastrophic injury that would turn him into a lousy dad.....

The Packers brought in linebacker Mondoe Davis, guard Adam O'Connor and receiver Mark Simmons for workouts Tuesday.....

Despite practicing on Wednesday, starting QB Byron Leftwich (ankle) was downgraded to questionable on Thursday. Leftwich said he was told by head coach Jack Del Rio before Thursday's practice that he won't be starting Sunday's home game against the Titans.
