Washington OG Kili Lefotu, a 7th round pick at the 2006 draft, is currently undergoing tests in hospital after being found unconscious in his room earlier yesterday evening. Coaches became concerned when Lefotu failed to show up for the team's 7 p.m. Wednesday evening practice. Lefotu was found unresponsive in his room and emergency services were called to take him to hospital. Head Coach Joe Gibbs said Lefotu appeared to be doing better, but doctors had yet to diagnose what happened. Meanwhile, the Redskins released undrafted rookie free agent DT Manaia Brown who had been one of the higher rated UDFAs after the 2006 draft. The Redskins filled Brown's sopt on the roster by resigning Chris Mineo, another UDFA DT whom they had released earlier this month.....

A couple of items that we missed in yesterday’s rookie camp report. Houston DE Mario Williams, the surprise #1 pick this year, has returned to practice after missing a few days of work last week because of a toe injury. Meanwhile, Kansas City QB Brodie Croyle, a 3rd round pick this spring, has seen limited action this week because of a sore shoulder. For now, Croyle is being listed as day-to-day and could play in the Chiefs’ pre-season opener this weekend.....

An agent for Chris Brown visited training camp Wednesday in hopes of pushing the Titans closer to extending the running back's contract or trading him... Silberman also left open the possibility that Brown may be advised to leave training camp at some point.....

Defensive tackle Manny Wright said Wednesday night that he has asked the Dolphins for his release because he has battled emotional problems and wants a fresh start with another team.....

Dallas could enter the mix for Broncos wide receiver Ashley Lelie, a holdout. Cowboys coach Bill Parcells told reporters Wednesday his team is interested in acquiring a receiver.....

CFB NEWS AND NOTES

Virginia WR Deyon Williams, an intriguing second-tier prospect for the 2007 draft, will undergo surgery Friday for a stress fracture in his foot and will be sidelined indefinitely. The 6-3, 185-pound Williams, who had 58 catches for 767 yards and seven touchdowns last year, tried to practice over the weekend, but complained about soreness in his foot before X-rays revealed the fracture.....

Southern California junior WR Dwayne Jarrett, a potential top 5-10 prospect for the 2007 draft if he opts to leave school this winter, will not miss any playing time this season after being reinstated to the program by the NCAA. Jarrett had been suspended for failing to pay full rent on an apartment he shared with former USC QB Matt Leinart. Jarrett was declared ineligible earlier this summer when the NCAA determined he received an extra benefit because Leinart's father paid the balance of the rent on an apartment that cost almost $4,000 a month.
