San Diego has unceremoniously released WR Rashaun Woods, the former 49ers’ 1st rounder whom the Chargers obtained in a trade earlier this spring. Woods, whom the 49ers acquired with 31st pick overall at the 2004 draft, caught only a handful of passes for San Francisco in an injury-filled tenure. In fact, Woods had been slowed by a hamstring injury at the Chargers’ camp. The Chargers replaced Woods on the roster by claiming undrafted rookie free agent WR Gerran Walker off waivers from Indianapolis.....

There was a palpable buzz around New Orleans' camp on Tuesday as RB Reggie Bush, the second player selected overall at the 2006 draft, finally made his debut on the field with the Saints. Bush had actually agreed to terms late last week, but there were several particulars in his contarct which had to be worked out. Meanwhile, New England WR Chad Jackson, a second-round pick this year, has been cleared to practice after spending the first week of camp on the PUP list because of a tweaked hamstring.....

Chad Pennington has won the Jets' starting quarterback job, according to a team official with knowledge of the team's plans.....

Former Oakland Raiders tackle Lincoln Kennedy arrived at Cowboys training camp Tuesday in hopes of receiving a tryout. Kennedy, who has been out of football since 2003, did not pass the physical and was sent home.....

Miami RB Tyrone Moss and WR Ryan Moore, a pair of decent second-tier prospects for the 2007 draft, have been suspended for the Hurricanes’ season opener against Florida State for violating team policy. Moore's suspension will also include the second game of the season; he also was suspended for the Peach Bowl at the end of last season.....
