NFL NEWS AND NOTES
The Tacoma News Tribune reports that Seahawks QB Matt Hasselbeck participated in the team's recent minicamp but threw only in individual drills. Coach Mike Holmgren called him "rusty." Hasselbeck is recovering from offseason shoulder surgery.....
Dolphins coach Cam Cameron said that QB Daunte Culpepper, who is rehabbing a reconstructed knee, is "in that 90 percent range." Cameron will not let Culpepper work out on the field until he's fully ready. "He's made progress and again it's the same situation, until he is 100 percent he won't be out there."....
Dolphins coach Cam Cameron liked what he saw from his rookie quarterback, BYU product John Beck. The team's second-round pick, Beck worked out at the team's minicamp recently. "He learned what most of them learn right away," Cameron said. "He let the clock run out twice. That clock is a major factor and major difference for guys coming out of college. He was shocked that that happened. He'll get that corrected. I think for all young guys it's a process. The ball seemed to come out as quickly as we thought it would, which is important. He is going to be one of those guys who is going to get a little bit better everyday."....
The Bengals have signed LB Edgerton Hartwell to a one-year deal, reports Bengals.com. Hartwell previously started for the Falcons in Atlanta, but was banged up and only played in 13 games over two seasons.
