NFL DRAFT 2007

Chicago has reportedly rejected Washington’s offer to send the 6th pick in the 2007 draft to the Bears in exchange for disgruntled franchised LB Lance Briggs and the 31st pick. For now, the Redskins are saying that that offer was their final offer. The Bears reportedly countered by asking for the Redskins to sweeten the pot by adding a veteran player such as emerging LB Rocky McIntosh. The consensus around the league though is that the issue isn’t dead and the two teams are expected to keep talking in the weeks leading before the draft. Meanwhile, Tennessee has reportedly talked with both San Diego and Chargers’ restricted free agent RB Michael Turner about what it cost to make him a Titan. Turner isn’t going to come cheaply though as the Chargers tendered him at the highest possible rate meaning he would cost any team first- and third-round picks in this April’s draft were another team to sign him to an offer sheet the Chargers didn’t match. The more likely scenario, though, is that any team interested in acquiring Turner would work out compensation with the Chargers before hand. The Titans have the 19th pick at this year’s draft. Buffalo, which has the 12th selection is also reportedly interested in making a pitch for Turner.....

Miami has acquired a 6th round pick at the 2007 draft from New Orleans in exchange for PK Olinde Mare. The Dolphins will get the 199th pick overall in this month's draft.
